I. The Invitation to Grace Within that holy flash of blinding light, Wherein thy soul is washed in liberty, Great God shall rise upon thy inward sight, For to remember Him is to be free. Let not the weary weight of time dismay, Nor fear the years it takes to change thy mind; How long an instant? It doth fleet away, A breath of grace that leaves the world behind. Why grudge the Spirit such a moment brief, When He demandeth nothing more of thee? ’Tis but thy pride that yields Him slow relief, While He prepares a vast Eternity. Give but this heartbeat, small and fleetingly, And Heaven’s gates shall swing to welcome thee.
II. The Covenant of Brothers Thou canst not claim this holy spark alone, Nor find thy peace while brothers dwell in chains; No private grace can for thy sins atone, If thou deniest them what God ordains. For holiness is shared, a common breath, It cannot dwell within a house apart; To strike a brother is to court thy death, To free his soul is to unbind thy heart. A miracle is but the gift thou sends, The very freedom that thou shalt receive; When time is offered for the Spirit’s ends, The heavy yoke of earth is granted leave. Give then this flash of light to every soul, And find, in healing them, thou art made whole.
III. The Transformation of Forever High Heaven alters not its holy face, For change is but a mask that guilt hath worn; No shifting shadow mars that sacred space, Wherein the soul’s true purity is born. The ticking clock is but a tool of grace, When yielded to the One who sees the end; He needs but little room, a tiny space, To make the fractured laws of nature bend. Thy purity was never lost in time, Nor can the ego’s world thy light erase; Beyond all change, in majesty sublime, Thou dwellest still within His deep embrace. One shining instant, held in sanctity, Is transformed now into Eternity.
